Holding a BS in finance from Purdue University, Troy Mertz has amassed more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, focusing on stock brokerage, options trading, and financial entrepreneurship. In addition to establishing TMZ Brokerage at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in 2007, Troy Mertz also is the founder and CEO of Delaware Trust & Lending and leads the acquisition and construction activities of Gilberts Development LLC.

As the CEO of Gilberts Development, Troy Mertz recently entered into an agreement to sell property for 299 single-family residences in Gilberts, Illinois, to NVR Ryan Homes. His firm acquired the full 1,134-acre subdivision in early 2014, which included sites for 985 single-family homes, as well as 62 acres of commercial property.

Gilberts Development is responsible for constructing the land improvements such as roads, parks, open space and underground utilities and Ryan Homes builds the residence. The Conservancy residential development is situated on 500 acres of scenic space in Kane County, Illinois. The tranquil community offers several conserved trails and open areas for walks, bike rides, and a variety of other recreational activities.

The Conservancy offers eight home types, each featuring expansive, open floor plans in both ranch-style and two-story layouts. Its residences encompass as much as 4,000 square feet of space, including up to six bedrooms and bathrooms, either a two- or three-car garage, and an unfinished, full-sized basement. Conveniently located near I-90 and Route 47, The Conservancy will offer residents a peaceful, rural atmosphere in close proximity to the Chicago metropolitan area.
